In the summer of 2020, sixty young people, including myself, will be travelling to Peru as volunteers. We will be dedicating four weeks of our time, energy, enthusiasm and muscle power to carry out projects that local Peruvian communities have said they need help with.

In England we sometimes take for granted our fantastic free education, fresh water from our taps and toilets that discreetly and easily get rid of our waste. Life couldn’t be more different in Peru.

Together, as a team, we aim to build classrooms, install clean water supplies and build new homes for vulnerable children and their families. We will work with local communities to ensure that what we create is what they really need.

I know I’m only one person in this very large world but my efforts, with your support, will have such a positive and long-term impact on the lives of many people who are much less privileged than I am.

The money you generously donate will primarily go into the Peruvian communities I will be volunteering in. Less than a quarter will cover the cost of my travel to get to and stay in Peru.

Personally, this will be an opportunity of a lifetime to experience and immerse myself in another country and culture so very different to what I am used to. I want to be able to give these underprivileged children the chance to have an education and for them to experience a life a little less challenging than it is at the moment.

No matter how large or small your donation is, every single penny will be a step closer to my fundraising target. Thank you for supporting me, but most importantly thank you for enabling me to improve the lives of others.
