Story

In memory of Megan Veronica Stephenson

My best friend is Stu Green. He was engaged to a wonderful young lady called Megan Stephenson and together with their Fox Red Labrador Lenny they were the most amazing couple with a perfect life. Tragically on the 18th March 2020 Megan who was just 29 years old passed away following a heart operation. We later learned that Megan had lived the majority of her adult life with underlying heart conditions. The Cardiology department worked tirelessly and provided incredible care throughout the procedure and the comfort they provided Stu, Megan’s mum Jan and brother Luke is something that they are eternally grateful for.

To help raise funds and awareness we are going to be biking for 24 hours on the 30th May with all proceeds raised being donated to the Cardiology Department at the Cumberland Infirmary. Megan was brave, enthusiastic, loving and inspiring with everything she encountered in life. This is our opportunity to help give something back and support the NHS in Megan’s memory.

As we’re in isolation we’ll be using a Body Max B2 indoor exercise bike which will be set up in Stu’s living room. We plan to start at 00:01 on Saturday 30th May and finish at 00:01 on Sunday 31st May. Me and Stu will be biking one hour on one hour off continuously.

We both have family and friends who work for the NHS as well as having experienced how amazing the staff are and we are grateful for all your support as we tackle this epic challenge.

THANK YOU

Glenn & Stu x
