Story

My wonderful dad, Ray Wise, was born on the 25th of November 1947 and sadly fell sleep forever, on the 28th of March 2025.

He was a man full of life, love, and warmth. He had a passion for sport, was a self-taught craftsman of wood, and loved nothing more than jet-setting around the world on amazing holidays. But above all, he loved family — and that love was the heart of who he was.

One of the most beautiful things to witness was the way he connected with his grandchildren. Whether he was playing with them, offering advice, sharing little pearls of wisdom, or simply showing them unconditional love — those moments were magical.

Dad always supported me in all the mad and muddy things I did for charity — from fun runs to skydives. He’d always say, “You know you can say no, right?” with a smile, knowing full well I already had my heart set on the next challenge. Dad cheered me on through every step, through the tears, and always gave me encouragement when I needed it most.

One job he took on later in life that I know truly touched him, was driving children with disabilities to and from school. He loved those children. He’d sing to them, make them smile, and offer gentle support to their families during some of their hardest days. He never asked for anything in return — their smiles were more than enough.

Dad’s funeral takes place on May 9th and in lieu of flowers, I would be honoured if you would consider making a donation to ‘In This Together’, a small charity that is very close to my heart and one I know Dad believed in.

I am an Ambassador for the charity, who support the wellbeing of children with a cancer diagnosis, and their families, with compassion, care, and kindness — shared values that meant so much to me and my Dad.

This is one way we can continue his legacy of love and support for others.

Thank you so much for helping us celebrate his life in a way that would mean the world to him, and us.

With love,

Kate
