I've raised £45000 to Fund building works to Improve & Increase: Access, Availability, Appointments, Creating 3 more clinical rooms on the ground floor.

This year we celebrate 31 years since St Peter’s Medical Centre first began. We first opened the doors of St Peter’s Medical Centre back in 1992, with one doctor, a handful of staff and about 1000 patients. Over the years we have grown to currently over 40 staff and in excess 8,500 patients.
Patients always want Doctors and nurse appointments. This remodeling, will increase our ability to offer face2face doctor appointments.
"More space will increase your Access & Availability to obtain a FACE2FACE Appointment"
At St Peters Medical Centre, we are often looking for ways to improve our services and our care for patients. Recent additions to our staff, include:
• 2 Clinical Pharmacists
• Social Prescriber
• Mental Health Practitioner
• First Contact Physiotherapist
• A Social Care Coordinator
• A General Practice Assistant
We also offer:
• Dietitian consultation service
• Diabetic clinics
• West Minister Drug clinics
We are a training GP & Nurse practice and are currently training:
• 2 trainee GP’s
• 1 Doctor trainee
Unfortunately, our Medical Centre has limited space, with increasing challenges to house these new people in order to offer our patients the clinical services that they most request.
However, despite the Covid restrictions St Peters Medical Centre continues to see patients face to face, and we still endeavour to see patients face to face when this is their preference.
We now find ourselves in a position where we could have more availability for appointments only if we had more space. It is now not unusual for clinicians to have to work from home or an office space due to insufficient clinical rooms left in the building.
With this in mind, we recently applied for a grant from NHS England to carryout essential building work to provide three additional clinical rooms on the ground floor. NHS England assessed out request and needs and it was established, that we are currently dramatically under-spaced as a ratio of our patient population. We are therefore pleased to announce that this NHS Improvement Grant has been approved and successfully agreed. However, we now have to raise somewhere between £30k to £50k in order to get this work done, as NHS England are unable to fund the entire project. We are now looking at various fundraising options to help with this requirement.
Several years ago we fund-raised effectively for our defibrillator, and we had a very generous response from our patients and the community.
We appreciate that these are very difficult financial times for everyone. However, if you feel you are in a position to donate and you would like to support us in improving St Peter’s Medical Centre’s access to face to face appointments, we would be very grateful for your support.
If you would like to donate to this project, please go to our ‘Just Giving’ page link via the below link on our St Peter’s Medical Centre practice website.
