I've raised £10000 to help fund: Imogen's Wheelchair, Wet room, adapting the home, support dog and training for Imogen.

Imogen is a beautiful 16 year old girl she's determined, she's funny, she loves playing with her younger sisters, dressing up as a princess, & dancing. All the things any young girl would love. She's much loved & needs our help!
Imogen is living with a rare form of Leukodystrophy, this is a degenerative condition which affects the white matter of the brain & leads to progressive loss of neurological function, along side this she is also autistic, so has little understanding on why and what is happening to her body. Imogen's mobility has deteriorated quite rapidly in recent months so we firstly need your help to buy her the best PINK wheelchair fit for a princess (Imogen LOVES PINK), the NHS have this week refused her a wheelchair despite her mobility now being extremely poor. Imogen's condition is so rare she doesn't tick the right boxes when assessments are being made. Whilst we help Nicola fight for the correct care/ funding which could take months we need to take action NOW.
Nicola is a proud working mother of three amazing girls but she's struggling to get through day to day care with Imogen, all the things we take for granted are slowly being taken away. Cleaning Imogen, trying to bath a 16 year old girl with a bath board is not only distressing its now impossible! (She needs a wet room) along with bars around the house so Imogen doesn't fall over (Still haven't been installed after months of waiting) A stairlift so Imogen doesn't fall down the stairs. Respite is much needed but Nicola's experience of this hasn't been pleasant, she doesn't want to send her somewhere that makes her feel physically sick because it's unkept! She desperately needs a break!! Finally help towards family breaks, so they can keep building treasured memories.
We need to get quotes for most of the above but in the meantime we've found a PINK (which was very important to Imogen) lightweight, easy folding, high quality wheelchair it's £1000, this will be like Imogen & Nicola's right arm and a key aid in keeping Imogen mobile & having a life outside of the house. It needed to be compact comfortable and cosy, the look and feel of this for Imogen is really important . It will also bring much joy, as they'll get back the mobility they so desperately need as a family her little sisters will be very happy too.
We will be keeping you up to date on quotes we receive to help adapt Imogen's life for the better & any help we acquire. In the meantime if you know any businesses that would donate or tradesmen in the Oldham/ Manchester area that would be willing to help we would love to hear from you. Also if you have any fundraising ideas please get in touch.
Finally any donation no matter how small will be most gratefully received, no family should have to contend with battling on so many fronts! Leukodystrophy is taking away so much from Imogen, she deserves to have the best care & equipment NOW. What most people don't understand is that funding is there in most case's, fighting to get access to it is another story. The truly draining and soul destroying form filling, phone calls, appointments quite often lead to nothing, so please work with us in helping Imogen & her family adapt whilst we fight to get her the best possible care.
With Love Nicola's friends.xxxx
