Story

Following a lengthy stay in residential rehab after his stroke, Ian has finally made it home, but he needs our help to enable him to live a full and comfortable life. Ian spent his life in service of others, as a teacher, headteacher, sports coach and community volunteer, and we have an opportunity to repay some of that service through this fundraising. These are the priority items we are helping to fund.
1. A wheelchair with pedals! Supports functional electrical stimulation
2. A wet room to support independence
3. Continuing out-patient physio rehabilitation
Thank you in anticipation of your support,
The OGs (A motley collection of Ian's old college mates with whom he has played cricket for over 40 years)

2 months agoEnjoy this picture of Flintoff, taking care of his humans, Ian and Elizabeth. The picture shows how much it means to start Ian's 'second innings' at home. Huge thanks to all of the contributors for surpassing our target. We are so grateful, and we're not done, not yet. The concert is still to come and if you can't make it in person, click the link below and buy a ticket for the live stream. Fri, Feb 7th. We'd love to say thanks to you on the night. 2 months agoA huge thank you to all of those who have donated to Ian's '2nd innings' to date. A special shout out today to all ex-pupils and staff members who had Ian as their headteacher, for the flurry of fundraising this weekend. The comments that accompany the donations are so moving. Ian's positive and caring attitude has had an impact on pupils and staff members alike, and it is clear that so many of you remember, and have shared the difference he made in your lives. This is a picture marking the retirement of Mr Dixon and fellow teacher Mrs Muir.
