Story

17 - 18 June 25 I'm hoping to raise a minimum of £1,500 split between 3 charities that have had an impact on me during my life by continually walking London’s Bridges & sleeping rough at night in recognition of our many veterans that do so.

I turn 60yrs of age on 7 June 2025 and at 0700 on the 17 June and finishing at 1300 on Wed 18 June I will walk and sleep ourdoors for 30 hours to represent 1hr for every 30yrs I served in the Armed Forces and hopefully raise money for the following Charities

1. Cancer Research

2. SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen’s, Families Association)

3. Battersea Cats & Dogs Home.

Cancer has emotionally had an impact on me, family & friends recently

My wife (best friend), my sister & some close friends have had and are still having horrible battles with Cancer and the help they have received on that tough journey has been exceptional and we must continue the research into hopefully eliminating it once and for all and reduce the stats of 1 in 2

There was a time I really thought both my wife, Jackie & my sister, Victoria were not coming out of hospital and it felt like a very dark sad place being absorbed by this disease but the treatment they received was exceptional and helped them through it so the research into ending Cancer must continue

I served in The Armed Forces for 30yrs of my life & I find it heartbreaking the way our governments do not really do enough for our veterans after our serving men & women give so much for our country and mostly it goes unrecognised and some pay the ultimate price and so many live rough on the streets as they just lose their way in life & SSAFA do so much work for homeless Veterans

Lastly I absolutely love animals and have 2 beautiful doggos, Gordon & Eric. They are the world to us and it breaks our heart seeing other animals not getting the love and home comforts our boys get so we want to keep wonderful charities like Battersea Cats & Dogs Home funded and help give these wonderful animals a chance.
