I've raised £3000 to support our Energy Hub's local charities

Community camaraderie is at the heart of Utilita's Energy Hubs - and it will take more than the COVID-19 lockdown to stop us helping good causes!
Our high street Hubs may be temporarily closed, but we have a plan up our sleeves to boost local charities and community support groups whose vital fundraising and community-building activities have been curbed by the coronavirus crisis.
It goes by the name of The Utilita Energy Hub2Hub Challenge.
A team from each Energy Hub will either walk, run, cycle or skip the equivalent distance from one high street Hub to another as part of their daily exercise regime - that’s a total of 516 miles, starting at our Newport, Isle of Wight, Hub and finishing across the border in Leith, Edinburgh.
Each Energy Hub has chosen one charity/support group to raise money for, reflecting Utilita's ethos of engaging with and supporting local communities:
Newport IOW Energy Hub - Independent Arts
Founded in 1987, this charity uses the arts to improve wellbeing and quality of life and to reduce social isolation. It engages with 1,700 mainly older people across the Island every month.
Gosport Energy Hub - Portsmouth Hospitals Charity
This charity supports the work of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. Together they drive excellence in patient care.
Shirley Energy Hub - Shirley Warren Action Church
A busy Baptist Church set on the edge of a housing estate in an area of Southampton with diverse social needs and resources.
West Bromwich Energy Hub - Options for Life
A not for profit charitable business set up to help people with learning disabilities and/or autism fulfil their potential and live a full and happy life within their community.
Derby Energy Hub - Derbyshire Blood Bikes and Me & Dee
Derbyshire Blood Bikes is a registered charity providing an urgent medical courier service to the NHS in Derbyshire.
Me & Dee is a registered charity which creates special moments and memories for children and adults with life-threatening, life-shortening or terminal conditions.
Leith Energy Hub - South Leith Parish Foodbank
Supported by The Trussell Trust, this foodbank is part of a nationwide network working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
During this unprecedented national shutdown, these local charities/community groups need our support now more than ever
Our energetic Hub teams will happily put in the leg work and would be grateful for your donations to help them on their way.
