Sorry for the essay, but this is a project close to my heart and after seeing the joy on the faces of our able-bodied customers over the past year, I would like to provide less able-bodied people that same opportunity to experience the joy of our carriage rides.
I run a small business in the Highlands of Scotland offering carriage rides to visitors to our small village of Carrbridge,
but over the past few months I've also had requests regarding carriage experiences and rides for disabled people, especially for those in wheelchairs and the carriage I have at the moment, while it is accessible for those with limited ability, it is in no way suitable for, or accessible by wheelchairs.
I have therefore been looking into carriages that are accessible to wheelchairs, with plenty of space for their companions/carers and think I may have found the right one. It also comes with a bow top hood to cover the whole carriage, which would be very handy with our Scottish weather.
So my next question is - how do I raise funds to buy this vehicle?
The cost of the carriage is £3000, plus £500 for the hood, and I would also have to include £500 for delivery expenses.
I have therefor set up this " just-giving" page, to help me achieve my goal of having a suitable carriage so that everyone can enjoy the experience of a horse-drawn carriage ride.
