Libertad is 22 months old and she was born with a rare and very complex congenital heart disease that includes hypoplasia of the Left Ventricle (HLHS), double outlet of the right ventricle, pulmonary stenosis among other malformations of your circulatory system; by which in the 20th week of pregnancy the doctors informed us that she lived his whole life with the half of the heart. With less than 2 years of age has gone through 2 heart surgeries via modus of open heart, a cardiac catheterization and at 4 months was admitted of urgency because his heart seemed to want to throw in the towel.

In contact with other families who have children with congenital heart disease such as Libertad, we decided in May 2015 to ask for a second opinion on the condition of our daughter to the Boston Children’s Hospital, the medical team in this North American institution gave us a piece of news that we did not expect: Libertad could be a candidate for biventricular repair. The doctors in the US could recover the left side of the heart of Libertad to create a functional heart with the 4 cavities that will substantially improve their quality of life and lifespan. In Argentina this surgery does not have antecedents, so we have prepared to bring our small to Boston to Dr Diego Porras and Dr Pedro del Nido next February and perform the first stage of the biventricular repair

Medical expenses for this first phase of treatment amounted to 198 thousand dollars, for this reason we have opened an account solidarity in the HSBC Bank to raise funds and to be able to go ahead with the treatment and travel to the US before 20 January.
