Loredana Jianu represents the proof that you can do whatever you want, as long as you work for it, no matter what obstacles life throws your way.

Loredana lives now in the city of Craiova, Romania.

She suffers from severe disability, having spastic tetraparesis and incomplete medullary section due to a spine injury at C3 that was not diagnosed in time and not treated correspondingly within the required timeframe. This illness has bound her to a wheelchair, kept her trapped in her own body and in need of daily medical recovery therapies to preserve whatever muscle and motion range in her arms that she has left. These medical therapies are what help her going, keeping the disease under control.

Despite all these health issues, Loredana has a meaningful life that serves her purpose, keeping her free spirit and being optimistic. Working very hard, with ambition and resilience, she succeeded to graduate, ranking first among her peers, in 2019, the Faculty of Law, University of Craiova, Public Administration Specialty.

She continued with her Master studies in Public Administration, and she will finalize them in June this year.

Loredana is currently living in the University's students housing together with her mom, her caregiver. At the time of her graduation in June, she must find another place to live in the city to benefit from the therapies that are vital for keeping her functioning. The financial burden is too much for her and her mom to pay rent and for her treatments.

She wishes to start working in an NGO to help others in her situation with legal/administrative advice and put to good work all she has learnt with so much sacrifice!

Loredana is a source of inspiration for me and anyone who can see how much she has realized while dealing with such severe illnesses. She passed all difficulties successfully to achieve her goals, keeping in mind only what she wanted to fight for and doing everything in her power to do so. Her academic path is difficult to achieve even for able bodies, healthy people! Her passion, perseverance, resilience and hard work has paid off! Loredana is a kind heart person who deserves to have in return all she puts out!
