I've raised £5000 to support our #HopeForLife Conference and our ongoing suicide prevention strategies and actions

On December 4th 2021, it will be 2 years since my son Jordan took his own life. Even in the days leading up to this tragic event, Jordan was clinging on to hope - in his journal between November 29th and December 2nd he'd written: "I am blessed with so much love and support from my family (my partner) and my friends....things always work out in the end"
3 days before this second 'anniversary', on December 1st, we have chosen to honour Jordan's life, at The Jordan Legacy CIC, by holding our first ever #HopeForLife Conference in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and I need your help so that we can bring hope to those who need it right now.
Our #HopeForLife Conference has 8 inspiring speakers, sharing their incredible stories of how they have overcome significant challenges in their lives and how they now dedicate their time to inspiring others. The conference also features inspiring live music and a powerful theatrical act which explores modern masculinity, loneliness and men’s mental health. This event will bring hope to anyone who is looking for a stronger sense of purpose in life or simply wants to end 2021 on a note of hope and to feel inspired again - we've all been through a very challenging period in our lives during the pandemic - full details of our #HopeForLife Conference can be found by clicking here .
For the past 700+ days, since Jordan's suicide, I have worked tirelessly to build a charitable organisation, which has now become my life. In the early days I relied on savings to allow me to get The Jordan Legacy CIC established. My vision is for us to move toward a Zero Suicide society and prevent any other families having to receive that knock on the door or telephone call, telling them that a member of their family has taken their own life.
The Jordan Legacy exists and persists, in part, as a result of the paid talks I deliver but most of our funds come from the generosity of amazing people who have donated or who continue to give regularly to us so that we can bring hope to those who have lost all theirs - we do this by working with communities and businesses to explore how we can implement practical solutions to prevent suicides.
By donating to this Just Giving page, you will be helping The Jordan Legacy to make our #HopeForLife Conference and related initiatives a success, supporting those who are in need of hope right now. Your donation could fund a ticket for those who cannot afford it (the £65 ticket price plus other possible expenses) or could help us to cover the cost of specific aspects of the event, such as; hiring audio-visual equipment and support (including for online access, recordings and post-Conference communications), providing teas, coffees and a simple lunch for attendees during the day or go towards the cost of hiring the venue.
Importantly, you will be helping support the ongoing work we are doing to help prevent suicides and supporting the mental wellbeing of those in our communities and workplaces. At the #HopeForLife Conference, we will summarise The Jordan Legacy's achievements in 2021 and plans for 2022.
Everything we do at The Jordan Legacy reflects who Jordan was. Following his death, so many of his friends talked of this wonderful, much missed, young man who would always be there for them when they needed help. He was the guy, who on a Saturday night out would stop to chat the homeless person sitting alone in the cold - despite his own personal struggle with mental health, he always made sure that others felt good and uplifted when he was with them.
This is whose memory you are making your donation to.
Thank you
Steve Phillip
