I've raised £1000 to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society and The Alzheimer Society of Ireland

HOME to HOME
Charity three day walk from Belfast to Donegal in aid of Alzheimer’s Society and The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Hi all,
On the 5th, 6th and 7th of July 2019, I am going to walk from my home in East Belfast to my family home in St. Johnston, Co. Donegal. A journey that will see me cover approximately 90 miles, on foot, over three days.
I am doing this to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and ultimately funds for the Alzheimer’s Society and The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. A cause close to the heart of my family and many others.
I have witnessed how devastating and heart breaking this cruel disease can be on a family. We have watched helplessly the steady decline of my Uncle Bill, powerless to fight the grip Alzheimer’s takes. Bill is always trying to ‘go home’ so this walk is for him, his family and everyone else out there who is affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Any support offered will be greatly appreciated; donations or otherwise. Whilst I’ll ultimately be undertaking this walk solo (my dog Lucy aside) I would greatly welcome any company along the way for a mile or two to take my mind off the inevitable blisters!
In the meantime, if you could share this page or offer any support or advice on long distance walking it would be well received! If you can afford to make a donation to this worthy cause it would be very much appreciated. Just follow the link.
All proceeds will be split between Alzheimer's Society and The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Much love and thanks,
Elaine
