Story
A group of staff at Hillside Specialist School & College are running a 5km/10km in Blackpool on the 26th April to raise funds for school to provide sensory resources and playground equipment for the pupils to enhance their learning. We are a group of runners and non runners, the staff involved are putting in a lot of training and work to complete the race.
Hillside Specialist School is a Specialist School in Lancashire for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. All of our pupils display significant difficulties within the ‘Triad of Impairment’ that is at the heart of the autism. A child’s difficulties in language and communication, social relationships, and rigid patterns of behaviour/thought/interests form major barriers to learning. Our role is to help our pupils to come to terms with, and overcome, these difficulties.
We want to raise as much money as possible and would love your support!
