I've raised £2500 to support the Hillingdon Hospital Foundation Trust - paediatric diabetes department

Someone I care about has Type 1 Diabetes...
We are walking this mammoth distance in honour of a little one in our lives who is a Type 1 Warrior!
We have chosen to crowdfund, as first time walkers we are joining a large group of other charity walkers - we need every penny you can spare to give us a little help covering the high registration fees. This time around we need the support of the organisers to see us through to the finish line but rest assured we will give the charity everything else we raise 🙌🏼
The Hillingdon Hospital Paediatric Diabetes team funds events for families who have a child living with diabetes; enabling families to form connections and gain support and understanding from other families living with the same condition.
The charity also provides unique opportunities for families by paying for places on residential weekends such as Friends For Life UK - an amazing conference where the children are placed into age groups and engage in diabetes related activities, while the adults attend seminars and learn about the new technology and methods to care for their diabetic child. A fantastic platform for children to make friends and speak openly with their peers about their feelings!
Additionally the paediatric diabetes department have sent young people to "Diabetes Camp" giving the individual the independence they desire at such an important age within a safe environment. This gives the rest of the family a much needed break from the stress of caring for a child with diabetes.
