Our Story...

In early 2020 we found ourselves in the middle of a pandemic. This was a stressful time for everyone in the UK with hundreds of small community groups (including ours) under a lot of pressure.

Our gaming club had been running for many years and had always been a source of community for a lot of people over thar time. It had fostered a sense of belonging and had been the catalyst for positive change in people. To me and I’m sure to many others, this tiny refuge was something we loved and looked forward to.

Sadly, at the end of 2020 we found out our old home, a community hall in Eltham was no longer able to house our group and the crazy world we were now in made finding an alternative virtually impossible. It was a tough call but we were getting ready to close the doors on the Hobbits Hole. It was a very sad time for all of us.

It was not the end!

After some thought and some discussions the club decided it wasn't quite done yet! Using online alternatives, the community were able to keep in touch and look out for each other. This allowed us to remain a club and, as restrictions started to be lifted, some news helped our spirits lift too!

This new club is now full of ideas, enthusiasm and joy but sadly does not have the assets of the old one. Although we will soon have a home we need to start from scratch again. They may be small things but pens, pencils, notepads, mats, books, and other assets are still needed along with safety equipment such as hand sanitizer stations. They are little things but would make a massive difference. Your money will be put to good use I can promise you that!

On behalf of all those this club has helped in the past, I ask you to help it now by donating towards this tiny light in the dark, and help it become the beacon it was before!
