Heulwen Hopper (née Lewis) or Mum to us, sadly passed away on 1st January 2023. Regrettably, she suffered from Alzheimer's disease and needed 24-hour care so as her condition worsened, and Dad became unable to cope, she moved into Rogers House and has lived there for the last eighteen months or so where she has been lovingly cared for by the staff and volunteers.

Rogers House wasn’t new to her because in her younger years she volunteered at the home alongside many of her friends from Camden Road Baptist Church and The Bridge Baptist Church. She spent many a happy time there playing board games and chatting with the residents, she even took her granddaughters Emily and Maegan along with her sometimes, which the residents loved. The home is named after and dedicated to Tom Rogers and his wife Doreen, Tom being the minister of Mum’s church for many years, and he also married Elizabeth & Derek and Karen & Paul.

We felt in memory of Mum and in lieu of floral tributes we would set up this Just Giving page for donations towards Rogers House, just as we did for our Dad. We will liaise with the management to find something that will benefit the residents and make their lives a little brighter.
