We've been left short £40,000 to complete the community sports hub for our local town of Hessle, East Yorkshire. We did however manage to pull together £20,000.

Building work was meant to be completed in May 2016. Various delays, not turning up, not completing work and 5 deadlines later - the builders contract has been terminated.

Whilst Hessle Sporting Club have raised the initial building money via fundraising, grants and loans for our new clubhouse - the use of the building isn't just for "us". we have a youth club waiting to use the facilities. Chess clubs, fitness classes, bingo and various other groups of people who finally now (or will have) a place to use in the heart of their own community, Hessle.

We did raise all of the initial money quoted to complete the building: £250,000. Due to various delays with the builder - this has now gone way over budget.

We've tried to fund as much as we can ourselves. As volunteers who provide a vital service for the community, we've explored all possible routes and drained them.

We need you. We need your help to complete the building which will then provide a valuable hub for the local community.

As a massive thank you for supporting this cause:

• Anyone who donates anything, will be listed on a "supporters" page on our website.

• £25 or over will receive their name - specially engraved onto a "brick" to be placed permanently inside the hub's main function room.

• Businesses who wish to donate over £50 - can have their business logo engraved onto the same "bricks".

• Businesses donating over £100 - will have the above and their own business page on our clubs website. Along side a rolling "film" to be displayed on a TV within the clubhouse.

• Any businesses or individuals who donate £1000 will gain the title of an Angel. All Angels will have a special plaque centered in our function room, a dedicated webpage and social media content.
