Education is power. It changes lives and can lift people out of poverty. The founders of this Association have been beneficiaries of educational funding, which was the single most crucial factor in the attainment of their educational goals and without which they would not have accomplished their dreams. The Trustees feel that they are a living testament of the best of charitable giving, when humanity extends a helping hand.

HEM has been set up to continue this spirit that seeks to grant opportunities to the less privileged by sponsoring academic dreams. Our name draws inspiration from a Judaic story told of a lady who touched the Hem of the Master Teacher's garment leading to healing and restoration and as well the beginning of a better life. We hope you will partner with us in changing at least one life, and together build intellectual capacity for the future one step at a time.
