A close friend's baby boy Jolan was born at week 31 with underdeveloped lungs and a rare condition called chylothorax. Not being able to breath unsupported, facing several infections continiously and having surgeries at this young age, he is fighting death every day. With his parents caring full-time for him at the NICU in Alder Hey, dealing with the up and downs in treatment in hope not to loose their baby boy. However, these circumstances leaves them unable to work at the moment with bills continuing to show up constantly. Studies show that parents of premature and sick babies face crippling extra costs averaging £282 per week.
