My daughter jasmine is 5 years old and was born with downs syndrome. During her life she has had over 12 operations 2 of which was open heart surgery. Since being born she has been delayed in development in a lot of areas.shes unable to eat safely, comunicate, walk or even crawl. Bless her tho she can swim. She has a double hip displacement and requires surgery which can only be done at great ormand street due to her heart history. They have to operate on her left hip first and then her right hip the total recovery period is going to be 4 months long and thats only for while she is in a full body cast from chest to toe. she will need alot of physio and aftercare. Due to the council not being able to rehome her its unsafe for her to be at her mums during the recovery period as its not wheelchair accesable any where within her apartment. I work full time and have a large enough flat suitable for jasmine including a hospital bed but as a result of having to take full time care of her im having to take 4months unpaid leave from work with not much help from the gov. Jasmine is a lovely bubbly girl who loves butterflies and swimming as well as flashing lights she loves a good sensory tume, shes always smiling.With this opperation hopefully jasmine will be given the chance to learn how to walk. All help would be really appreciated.
