Since March 2020, when the first case of Covid19 was detected on the small island of Boa Vista, help has been needed here more than ever.

There are 2 main projects I have supported whilst living here in Boa Vista.

One being the beautiful and much needed Kindergarten in Rabil. A beautiful space created for the children which opened its doors on 29th February 2020 and requires ongoing sponsorship or one off donations to help remain open.

Since the island went into lockdown in March 2020 majority of the island has been without work due to the hotels closing, and still remaining closed with no light at the end of the tunnel for this small tourist island. This has had a knock effect on the whole community.

As we know, the education of a child from a young again is so important but many families struggle to find the funds to send their children. This is where one off donations or individual sponsorship helps. The monthly cost for each child is €45 0 - 2 years and €35 3 to 5 years.

The 2nd project is the food donations. Since April 2020, as soon as the island went into lockdown and 90% of the island lost their jobs with no or very little government help, myself and a small team have helped to distribute food donations to those in need in Rabil.

The amount of £2,000 per month will help to provide approximately 25 places in the kindergarten and 100 food donation bags costing €10 each. If we can raise more we can help to provide basic hygiene products also.
