Fallon is our 25 year old daughter. Since she was 4 she's had very severe Epilepsy along with learning difficulties (a syndrome called LGS) that has given her at least 5 seizures every day for the last 21 years.

She has had every AED (Anti-Epileptic drug) that is available and even a VNS ( Vagal Nerve Stimulator) implant, but nothing has ever worked.

A year ago we saw a news article about a medicine that could stop Fallon's seizures. It was available in many places around the world, but not in the UK.

Last summer we took Fallon to Holland to get a prescription from a local doctor for the medicine, and her seizures have reduced by over 80%. Now instead of multiple seizures every day she may have one or two in a week. Until November last year this medicine was illegal in the UK and although the law has changed, which makes it legal for medical purposes, the NHS and Health Trusts refuse to fund it.

The medicine is Medical Cannabis Oil

We therefore have to spend £1,500 per month for a medication under a private prescription that we know works, but despite the law change the NHS refuse to fund. Ideally Fallon would be taking a higher dose of the oil which would cost us £3,000 per month but this has been unaffordable to us.

We've been able to fund Fallons medication for 10 months but unfortunately all our savings have now completely depleted. Without it she will revert to her multiple daily seizures.

It is difficult to ask friends, family-even strangers to help fund anything for you or your family. But that is what we've had to do .We have already met MP's (over 100 MP's now support our campaign), and had the case discussed on the floor of The House of Commons and The House of Lords. We have met the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, who says he is supportive, - but sadly, its not happened yet.

We will win the fight for Fallon to be prescribed her medicine on the NHS. But unfortunately it hasn't happened fast enough and our main priority now is keeping her well. We don't believe any parent would do any different.
