Thanks to our last crowdfunder raising almost £1,000 we sent 11 barrels direct to where needed - but need to send more. Imagine living in total darkness - this is the reality for most people in Dominica for 12 hrs a day or more. Hurricane Maria didn't just destroy homes, it left most of the island with no power, no clean water & limited communication. The nights are long, starting at 5pm and for many who are now living in sheds, badly damaged homes, or even cars imagine the difference even one solar light would make. One of our team, Dominique, has been back to visit friends & family there and experienced for herself the harsh reality of life without light. Sandra, the co-founder of Help for Dominica lives in Castle Bruce, an area which is also virtually without light apart from those who have been fortunate enough to obtain Generators.
