Story

The last few years have been difficult for everyone as we have all had to deal with a global pandemic and it's effect on our lives. Yet, sometimes life finds a way to pile on the tragedies. In the summer of 2020, my then 21 year-old cousin, suffered a life-changing accident during a day out at the lake.

On a day that was meant to be fun and full of joy with work colleagues and friends, he dove into the lake, but was not clming back to the surface. Thankfully, his friends noticed and pulled him back, waiting for an ambulance. He broke several spinal discs and began to fight for his life.

Thanks to his incredible medical staff, against the odds, he survived, although he suffers almost complete body paralysis.

His parents have done everything they can to give him the best possible quality of life. They sold their home and are unable to work as they have become full-time carers for him. Living in Lithuania, healthcare and rehabilitation costs have been extraordinarily expensive. They use chiropractors and various other proffessionals at their own cost to do whatever it takes to help him. But this story is not without hope.

A stem cell transplant could change everything for him. The estimated cost of the procedure would be between £50,000 and £120,000.

I am trying to raise as much as possible to cover these costs. For now the target I set is £10,000 towards these costs.

I am beyond petrified of heights. I once put a towel over my head because I couldn't cope with being driven up twisting, turning roads... I had a panic attack, was looking at pictures on flat ground of me and my fiance at the time. I genuinely thought I will die… Reason I am telling you this? If I can raise £10,000 I will jump out of an airplane.

All costs associated with the skydive will be covered by me so every donation will go towards my cousin's medical costs.

If you are able to, please consider donating for this cause, every pound will get us closer to getting my cousin to walk again. It would mean the world to me and my family if you could help as little or as much as you can!

This was him before the accident.

Mountain bikes were his passion!
