Hello Friends

Thank you for clicking on the link. I have set this page up in order to offer some support to the Ramadan family over in Syria. My connection to them is through my good friend Freya, who married Noah back in 2019 over in Greece after meeting him in a refugee camp in Athens. Noah had to flee Syria in order to preserve his own life, as have since two of his brothers, and one of his sisters.

Back home Noah still has his father, mother, four sisters and an older brother who has two children. Noah takes the lions share of responsibility when it comes to supporting his family (out of the four of them who have escaped to Europe) - this is obviously a lot to bear and as well as offering his family some financial aid, this fundraiser is also intended to show Noah and Freya that we stand with them, and want to help.

Things were pretty bad before the recent earthquake, but since then it has got to the point where barely three hours of electricity per day are available to them. Factor in the highly unstable political climate, US financial sanctions, and the ongoing war which ravages their country and the situation is pretty bleak.

I want to raise enough money to buy them a solar setup. This will give them energy independence, and a buffer of security against the rolling blackouts which have been a normal part of life in Syria since even before the Earthquake.
