Iʼm raising £50,000 to rebuild, recover and save Northenden Golf Club

Story

With the recent unprecedented floods, Northenden Golf Club has sadly suffered serious damages and losses. The resulting emotional and financial costs are unimaginable.

It will be a long road back through the hard work of our team, the volunteers, the members and the local community. However, even with this focused effort, the Club will struggle to get back to anywhere near where it used to be without financial help and support.

Almost all of the course equipment is now deemed unusable. Internally, the main office and office equipment have been totally destroyed. Both locker rooms have been severely damaged. The bar area and furniture are no longer fit for purpose.

Over the years, Northenden Golf Club has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities, both local and national. We host regular meetings of local business networking groups and also provide training and conferencing facilities for organisations such as Invest in Play, The Christie, and several different local NHS departments. We have also been the venue for countless memorable wedding celebrations, birthday parties, christenings and other family events over the years.

Our golf club is a huge part of the community, and not just for employment. Hundreds of people use NGC as part of their way of life and already some are having their mental health impacted.

With your support and donations, I believe we can all pull together to restore this key part of the community to the local asset it used to be.

Every little helps and every single penny will be very gratefully received.

We're making steady progress with phase one of our recovery and hope to have our upper floor bar and function room open for use in March. The course is on track to open in early April. Thanks for all your donations, which are helping to make our recovery possible. We really appreciate it.
