Last May a friend of ours, Hannah Hayes (was black) was diagnosed with a malformation of the brain. This came as a massive shock not only to Hannah but her wife Ash and all her family and friends. After being told that she required an operation in October which was said to be straight forward and would leave Hannah recovering with her loved ones, it in fact resulted in a bleed to the brain & air bubble. After intensive care and a loss of speech and memory for Hannah she was later diagnosed this February with a grade 3 glioma, which is a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Since her operation in October Hannah had been cared for by the staff at Walton & Clatterbridge hospital where she has undergone extensive radiotherapy. Hannah recently moved back home to be with her wife and family whilst receiving palliative care.

Sooo myself and my wife Leanne have signed up to run Chester half marathon in aid of raising much need money for Hannah. As some may know leanne is not the biggest fan of running, and so this challenge does not come easy AT all. As for myself I recently gave birth to our daughter and so running has been the last thing on my to do list. This will not be an easy challenge for leanne nor I but we feel that this is only a small amount of a challenge as to what Hannah has endured and so we will be taking this very seriously. We hope to raise as much as we can to help support Hannah with any financial needs she may have.
