I've raised £500 to support Paul Hooton's St.Helens 10k Run for Haydock Hedgehog Helpers (rescue)

The wonderful Paul Hooton will be running the St. Helens 10k run (1st March 2020) to raise funds for both Haydock Hedgehog Helpers and the Green Party (this page is to raise funds for the rescue only though).
Paul has previously been active and involved in opposing development on Green Belt in Haydock on the basis that the site was full of wildlife - including MANY hedgehogs. Paul has lived in Haydock all his life (like myself) and intends to stand in the next local elections as a Green Party candidate (Haydock Ward).
As a qualifed primary school teacher, I am convinced of the power of education to create change. Therefore, the money raised will go towards the set up costs of our outreach and education plans, whereby we will attend schools, womens groups, scouts, brownies, etc. to spread awareness of the plight of hedgehogs and suggest ways in which every one of us can contribute to helping to reverse the downward trend of the population numbers. We have already attended one very successful school session, so the funds will develop this further to provide additional and varied resources to cater for a range of audiences and settings.
We will buy items such as large prints of PowerPoint presentation to cater for settings without suitable technology; craft items for activities included in the session, printed materials (including information packs sent to schools, containing lesson plans, copies of insurance certificates, etc), and pre-made microscope slides (suitable for children) to name but a few.
We will also use some of the money to print informative leaflets to be distributed across Haydock in order to reach local demographics.
Please give genorously to enable us to teach and empower others to look after the hedgehog population in their own gardens.
