Story

This fundraiser is to support Leila Rose Hallam who was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma (a rare form of cancer) at the age of 6. Her wish is to travel to Disneyland once she is fit and well enough to go. Additionally, with surplus money, we would like to donate this to the Rhabdomyosarcoma clinical trial to promote awareness and progression of this type of cancer as fewer than 60 children in the UK are diagnosed with this type of cancer each year.

She has been battling this cancer since the 28th of October and it is extremely aggressive and has already spread to other parts of her body. Due to the type cancer she has, they have been unable to find her main tumour which is causing the spread, meaning it could possibly return after treatment so she will be closely monitored.

Leila's treatment will last for at least a year with a mixture of strong chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and operations.

The family wants to make Leila's journey as nice as possible for her and will eventually take her on the trip of a lifetime with family to Disney land in Florida once she is well enough to travel.

To help raise awareness Matthew and his friends will be tackling the 3 peaks challenge, hiking up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell pike in under 24 hours on the 25th of June.
