Story

A message from Mohsen:

"My name is Mohsen Abu Al-Qumboz, a 24-year-old Palestinian young man from Gaza, from a middle-income family of 15 people. All I publish is our suffering and misery in the ongoing war in Gaza. I had many goals and ambitions that I wanted to achieve, but all of those goals and ambitions became incomplete.

We lost everything: the warmth of family, being home, our work, our friends, our loved ones, and even our beautiful memories. More than 139 days have now passed since this hideous war. I will not hide anything from you. I was saving an amount of money, in order to achieve my first goal, which was planned by me and my family, which is marriage. But now, due to the circumstances we are going through, due to the high prices of the scarcely available products, and my attempt to help my family as much as possible, only a small amount of this amount remains, and of course it will end soon. I ask you for this amount to help me complete my life and build my future, and to help my siblings with their livelihood and work.

This is my whole story. Your help, even if it is a small amount, will make a difference to me. Your sharing of the link represents my support and backing. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding."

Mother & Father: Amal & Essam

Brothers: Muhammad, Ahmed, Mohsen

Sisters: Dalia, Ola, Hanin, Bilsam, Manar, Shereen, Wafaa

Children: Obaida, Talal, Mira, Kenan, Karim, Abdul Rahman, Anas, Siwar, Masa, Aya, Maryam

Adults approx $5,000 each : $60,000

Children approx $1,000 each: $11,000

$71,000 total for border fees

Additional funds: $150-200 per day to feed the entire family

I am starting this Just Giving fundraiser to support Mohsen, a Palestinian living in the beseiged Gaza Strip. Mohsen is living in a tent in Deir Al Balah, where they were displaced to from Rafah last week, with his extended family members. Nobody is able to work and earn money, food and supplies are limited, and approximately 200 Palestinians are killed every day. All funds collected here will be transferred via my contact living in Deir al Balah as long as i have a safe route. If anything happens to him I will have to find another way.

Gaza has been under attack from Israeli forces since October, over 6 months of relentless bombing, an unprecedented attack on civilian life. Homes, businesses, hospitals, mosques, schools, all societal infrastructure has been intentionally destroyed by the occupation forces. Palestinians desperately need financial support and anything you can donate will help Mohsen and his family survive until a ceasefire can be reached.

Mohsen and his family have once again been displaced. The occupation issued evacuation orders yesterday and the bombing began shortly afterwards. The family packed up their belongings and travelled three miles to an uninhabitable area to the west near the ocean. Even these areas aren’t safe, marked by occupation bombing in the last few days. They are terrified for their lives. There’s no safe place left for them to go. ‼️💔

Hi eveyrone, Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donations. Yesterday, Mohsen received confirmation that his cousin in Egypt successfully received my bank transfer of £2,864.00. This will be transferred to Mohsen’s personal bank account for easier access and cash withdrawals in Gaza. This incredible amount of money will go towards improving the shelter for the family, costing approximately £623.00. The rest of the funds will be used for daily survival needs and medication for Esam. Thank you all again 🙏 ❤️ 🍉

UPDATE: The IDF is advancing into Bureij refugee camp, located only a short distance from Deir Al Balah. Not sure where this will lead, but please share the fundraiser far and wide, as soon as there is an opportunity to leave Gaza it may be a short window. Thank you all so much for the extremely generous donations so far. aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2024/6/5/israels-war-on-gaza-live-deadly-strikes-ground-attack-target-bureij-camp
