Story

Storm Arwen has decimated Haddo Country Park. Our place of solace, and home to so many wonderful animals and birds, lays in tatters.

Over the coming months and years we are going to have to pull together as a community to make safe, clear the thousands of tonnes of timber, and start the regrowth process. We can and will do this, Haddo will be wonderful again for future generations of children and wildlife. But we need your help!

Aberdeenshire Council, along with the Haddo Estate, will begin the arduous process of clearing. This will take years to complete, but we will do it in phases so we can reopen. What we need to do is start growing native trees so that we have something to plant when the time comes. It takes years to grow an oak tree sapling, for example, so we must start now.

Please help us to do that by sponsoring the growth of a sapling, or contributing to the monumentous amount of work we have to do in preparation of that goal.

Anything you can spare would be so appreciated. I know that if we come together we can ensure that future generations find the same love and peace in the forest that we have enjoyed. It won‘t happen overnight, this is a longterm project, but with your help, it will happen.
