Story
Guru Nanak's Mission (GNM) is a diverse group of volunteers who come together three times a week to serve a hot meal to those in need.
A hot meal can make a massive difference to those who GNM serve, and sadly there are still circumstances where this would often be somebody's first Hot meal of the day.
What will your money mean to GNM?
This fundraiser will be used to help GNM bulk purchase all the products that are used in the cooking and distributing of food (e.g. oil, rice, tomato tins, spices, pulses, soya etc.)
The environmental impact of what we do is hugely important to us all. At GNM, we believe we must ensure that any meal we serve has as little impact on our environment as possible.
Over the past six months, GNM has been working hard to reduce all our plastic use. This year we began to serve all our meals in biodegradable and compostable packaging. This however is one of the most expensive costs we have.
Your donation will help GNM keep the mission going for all three days we operate, as well as our extra work and projects, including working with the Red Cross during extreme weather and supporting homeless families and children during the school holidays.
GNM can only do this with the support and help of people just like you who care about those who are less fortunate.

4 years agoFrom everybody at GNM a huge thank you to each and everyone of you that has donated to this fundraiser... every penny is used to provide hot meals for the homeless / vulnerable people of Nottingham. (I) we’ve been blown away by the generosity of people like you who’ve given time, money and energy to helping us along our journey. A new fundraiser will be setup shortly so if you have setup a monthly donation please get in touch. Again thank you from the entire GNM team!

4 years agoThank you to each and every one of you that has donated. GNM really can't tell you how much of a difference this is making not only the homeless but also many vulnerable people in Nottingham. We are getting many referrals from agencies who have asked GNM if we can provide meals so we are seeing an increase in the number of meals we are making each week. This has been only possible by your generosity! Jat

I've been a volunteer with Guru Nanak's Mission for over five years, I believe it's important to show empathy to those who need it in our community, regardless of the circumstances everybody should have a hot meal. We do this simply to inspire others to be better people.
