The current outbreak of the Coronavirus in the UK has meant that many small businesses that host a multitude of LGBTQ+ community events have had to shut their doors or are working at reduced capacity. We know that for the foreseeable future, businesses like Gay's The Word bookshop will be facing potential financial uncertainty.

We feel that Gay's the Word is such a special and unique community hub and are hoping to help support it throughout the pandemic and its aftermath as best as we can. The shop has been crucial to supporting and connecting LGBTQ+ people with each other for decades; be it via discussion or book groups or their literary expert wisdom. This is why we have decided to collect funds for the bookshop. Every penny counts and will be forwarded directly to the shop. The shop has given us so much joy over the years and it would leave a deep void if it were to shut permanently. We would be more than grateful for any donation.

Please note that this JustGiving campaign is organised by the facilitators of the LDG and the 'A Lesbian Affair' Podcast team - not the bookshop directly. We usually collect donations for the shop as a 'Thank you' for hosting us every week so this is our way of giving back.
