Grayson was born at Darent Valley Hospital with a congenital heart defect called AVSD. At just a few days old he was then diagnosed with a cows milk intolerance at DVH. Then only weeks later he started to display the signs of early heart failure and was admitted for the first time to Willow Ward. It is at this point that we were introduced to the amazing doctors, nurses and play team of the children's ward. Grayson then spent the next few months in and out of Williow Ward untill he had his open heart surgery at 3 months old.

While in Willow Ward, the play team made a massive difference to Grayson and us. They gave Grayson toys and bouncers to keep him happy. They even brought the magician in to keep us entertained. They gave us support at a very difficult time for our very young family.

As a family we really want to do something to say thank you and to give something for families and children who may find themselves in a similar situation. The ward has some really beautiful murals more aimed at younger children and we felt that we could offer a more street graffiti style mural for the teen room. While doing this we want to try and give the room a make over and make it a really fun environment for the teens to hang out in.

We are hoping to raise between £500-£1000 towards the project and we need your help. We will be doing some fundraising events like bake sales and charity walks as a family. Watch this space for updates.
