I am a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, an Artivist & initiator of Grenfell Memorial Quilt. 
Grenfell is a cause close to my heart because my Daughter is a survivor.
GMQ community fabric art project started 5 years ago.
GMQ Community Project are #sewingforjustice. Our aim to complete the quilt Hanging for the 10th year Remembrance in 2027.
GMQ will be the size of the dimensions of Grenfell Tower 220ft x 72ft .
To memorialise & celebrate those 72 lives lost in Grenfell Tower. GMQ Community Projects chief aim is to provide an outlet for the emotions of those affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy, to create a sense of community & support resulting in a life-affirming, humane tribute: a counterpoint to the callous, inhumane motives which resulted in the unjust deaths 72 people.
GMQ is also a reminder. A call to action regarding building materials regulations. Although new regulations were put into place many years prior to the fire, the use of such dangerous perilous materials continue.

The Quilt is currently 72 ft = 6 x 12sqft Quilt blocks, which are each titled.

GMQ is a Polymorphous Fabric Art Quilt Hanging. Forrever changing & growing through its development. 

GMQ is being created by many different people an eclectic unusual mix of people who have used donated, gifted fabrics of many varieties, textures, weights, patterns & colours.  

- A wonderful motley collection of dedications & tributes sewn by a wonderful motley crew, of Artivists, Sewers, Quilters, from many stitching, textile groups & quilting/sewing bees. It has developed into an amazing example of Community Craftivism over the last 5 years.
From our community & wider communities in London and across the UK. Aswell as Europe, Brazil, Belgium, Scotland, Wales & the USA.
