Story
Bill Wilson of Glenmore Shop and the Pine Marten Bar, bought the Bombardier XC track cutting piste machine in 2010. It has cut tracks for cross country skiers around the Glenmore Forest (near Aviemore) every winter since then. Bill sadly took his life at the end of May this year. However, the Glenmore Piste Charity that Bill founded, is committed to keeping the Piste Machine going and, snow permitting, cutting tracks again this winter round the forest for everyone to enjoy free of charge. Glenmore Lodge has kindly offered to provide free garage space for the machine to operate from and we have a number of volunteer drivers. However, the piste machine needs fuel and needs to be maintained and insured. We are trying to raise £2500 to cover this years costs. If you would like to take advantage of the XC tracks this year please consider giving a few pounds to help make it happen. You can see more pictures of the piste machine and skiing the tracks through the forest, as well as keeping up to date with ski conditions by visiting and liking our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/glenmorexcskitracks or seach for Glenmore XC ski tracks.
