Story
I am part of a three-man team, which includes my good friends John Brophy and Muhamed Jallow. We are trying to raise money to kick-start another project in The Gambia. Over the past four years we've been doing work in orphanages, nurseries and schools. We are three ordinary, working guys who just want to make a difference.
I recently announced that I was doing a 10 mile sponsored walk to raise money to build a nursery school in Busumbala in The Gambia. Well, I have changed my mind! I’ve decided to walk the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall, from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. It’s 84 miles and I’ll be doing it over a week. I’m taking Roy, Johnny's cocker spaniel, for company and we are setting off on June 30.
If you have not already done so, please support me – every little bit really does help.
We spend every penny directly on Gambian projects involving orphanages, nurseries and schools. It is our policy not to hand over money to representatives or organizations, but pay workers and suppliers directly. No donations go towards overheads, running costs or administration. We identify areas where we think can help and set ourselves realistic, achievable goals. In this way we locate rapid, cost-effective and self-sustaining solutions to problems that make a real difference to the quality of people’s lives.

Hi, how did your walk go? We were the mad women on bikes by the Tyne. We raised £4,500 so it was well worth it. What's your next adventure? It was lovely having that happy exchange. Love Lizzie x

Well done Roy and well done Gerard. Have been watching your progress while clambering up and down canyons in Utah. Bit different weather - hot and sunny. Hope to see you one of these bright days.
