"Are you mad?", my wife said when I told her I was going to walk to Chichester. "Why don't you take the car?"

I told her that I could raise funds for our Church Tower , and also that , as Chichester Cathedral was 950 years old this year , that we couldwalk as a type of Pilgrimage, as Chaucer had written about in the Canterbury Tales.

I got my wife's blessing!

Thus, at least 10 of us will be walking on Saturday July 26th the 12 miles . and we are seeking support as our Church Tower is presently under scaffolding, and inevitably the builders have found more work to do than anticipated.

This is the ChurchTower that drivers and passengers see when approaching Tillington from Petworth on the A272. The Church Tower was painted by John Constable and JWM Turner.

We need to keep it going for at least the next 200 years so help please.
