Geosynthetics Ltd is a small business based in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Every year we hold our annual fundraiser event to raise money for different charities. This year we have chosen to raise money for two fantastic local charities battling to lower the rate of homelessness within the Hinckley and Nuneaton area. 19 members of the Hansam Group team, which is made up of Geosynthetics Ltd and our sister company Stormwater Management Ltd, are joining together to take part in the Xrunner which is a 10k mud run that includes a number of different obstacles such as; Firestarter, Aqua-phobia, Hangtough and Walktheplank to name just a few. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible, have fun and get fit all at the same time!

Doorway:

Doorway are a well-respected young people’s homeless charity set up in 1997. They provide housing advice, support and life skills development to vulnerable homeless young people aged 16-25 in Warwickshire. Doorway offer a range of services to assist and support young homeless people, these services include; an advice service, a support service, a development service and a landlord scheme. Doorway have helped over 10,000 young people since we began in 1997. On average 9 out 10 young people move on from Doorway services to live successful independent lives.

Lawrence House:

Lawrence House was founded in 1992 in conjunction with Leicester Housing Society by the Hinckley Homeless Group whose main activity is running the house.

Lawrence House is a supported accommodation project for homeless young people in the Hinckley & Bosworth area of Leicestershire. They provide accommodation for 12 people between the ages of 16 and 25 of either sex.

The project provides a private room for each individual with a range of communal

facilities and other items. A key worker system is operated, which offers young people living here the support they feel is necessary in any area of their lives, such as benefits, budgeting, life skills, family relationships and career choices. In addition to this, there is always a member of staff on duty and available to give support and advice or just to listen.
