Story

George Farr, James Hobson and Chris Harrison are a trio of local legends looking to help raise money for the vulnerable within their community who have struggled immensely throughout the past 18 months. After seeing first hand what a devastating social impact the virus has had throughout the depths of the lockdowns, the idea arose for the three to get their sh*t together, train hard and go from the couch to completing the Manchester Marathon on October 10th, and hopefully raise a bit of money in the process.

The training slowly started in March, and the first milestone was to complete the ridiculously hilly Heaton Park Half Marathon on Sunday August 1st. The lads got through it unscathed with respectable sub 2 hour finishes (Chris was a bit faster than the others but who's counting..) and now continue with their nightmare of a training plan to prepare them for the beast of the marathon in 10 weeks time.

All funds raised to back the lads will go directly to both of these vital local charities:

The Nappy Project - A Stoke on Trent service launched at the beginning of 2018 that provides nappies, wipes, toiletries, sanitary wear, medication such as head lice treatment and calpol and also food to those most in need. https://thenappyproject.com

Alice Charity - A charity that support families in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme socially, emotionally and financially through the experience of safeness, kindness, warmth and compassion. https://alicecharity.com
