Pulmonary Fibrosis is a little known chronic illness which stiffens and scars the lungs making it difficult to breathe. In most cases the scarring is progressive and therefore life shortening. There is no cure. I'm raising money for EPIC, a research charity actively looking to find better treatments and ultimately a cure.

I live with PF. For me its like living high on a mountain where the air is thin. Lack of oxygen affects your muscles, your organs and your brain. Breathlessness, coughing fits, tiredness and a lack of concentration become part of the new normal.

But it is what it is and it could be a whole lot worse. So I look for the positives. That allows me to admire the view from up here on my personal mountain. I can look around me and smile, grateful for what I have and with hope for the future.

Ive been supported throughout my recovery by my wonderful wife Angie, my fantastic family and friends, the NHS, the Army, the Veteran Community and my new friends in the PF Community.

So while I still can I am taking on a challenge. I had thought I would never cycle again but thanks to the power of the ebike I am now back out on the roads cycling short distances. So the challenge is to cycle in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Each ride is around 35 miles and based on a sportive. My PF means that I will have to be conscious of my oxygen levels, resting regularly and not just pushing through the pain of exertion. But I will have first class support in the shape of my wife and friends who have agreed to ride with me. The events are:
