Hello, I’m George a 17 year old sixth form student currently studying English Literature, Geography and Economics at Ermysteds Grammar School. In July 2017, myself and 12 other like-minded pupils will travel to Maputo in Mozambique to begin our 27 day journey visiting Africa’s rural communities.
The expedition will be comprised of a rewarding community project which will help make a contribution to a village with poor sanitation and no electricity. More specifically we will be decorating and renovating classrooms as well as teaching English and other skills to the children. This project also gives us a chance to interact with the wider community by sharing stories , culture and music.
During the second part of our expedition we will begin the expedition phase, this will involve two physically demanding treks through some of the countries most isolated terrain.
To be apart of this unique opportunity, my first challenge will be to fundraise £3800, therefore any donations will be hugely appreciated.
This trip is truly a once in a lifetime experience which will give me an insight into different cultures and also giving me the chance to make a real impact on a poor African community.
