After a short but difficult battle with cancer, we said goodbye to our much much loved dad, George Fejer, on January 29th, 2021. 

Our Dad spent two weeks at North Tees hospital and when we were told the heartbreaking news that nothing more could be done we knew that we had to get him home. It was what he wanted too. Palliative care was organised in two days thanks to Macmillan Cancer Support and the District Nurses at North Tees Hospital. A bed and a wheelchair were delivered and our Dad was able to come home from the hospital and the care could start immediately. The District Nurses came out routinely twice a day to check on him and his medication, and they organised carers to come and assist us too. The nurses came out as quickly as possible when we rang them asking for help, even in the middle of the night and on more than one occasion. We're eternally grateful to every nurse and carer who helped us to care for our Dad in such a dignified and loving way at home, ensuring that he was always comfortable and not in any pain.

We would love to give back, and so we're aiming to raise as much money as possible for both Macmillan Cancer Support and for the District Nursing Charitable Fund at North Tees Hospital. As it's not possible to raise money for 2 charities using one page, we've created this page so that we can donate the funds raised evenly between the two charities and will show updates of this here.
