At the end of this month I will be undertaking the Arctic Blast Challenge, this is an unsupported attempt to cover 100km across the Arctic Circle in 5 days. This is an immense challenge that I have decided to undertake in order to raise money for Velindre to give back to a charity that means a lot to me and my family.

A huge thank you to everyone that has already helped me raise an incredible £1700 for Velindre Cancer Centre!

My original fundraising goal was reached and the initial fundraising page was closed at the start of this month, however the generosity of my friends and family seems to know no bounds and there are still people contacting me asking to support this great cause. As such I have decided to open this additional fundraising page to see if I can raise another £300 over the coming weeks for Velindre. I have self funded my place on the trek so every single penny that has been donated will go straight to Velindre. I truly appreciate everyone that has already contributed, and also those who have offered kind words of encouragement with regards to the huge challenge that faces me in the coming weeks.

Velindre is a specialist cancer treatment on the outskirts of Cardiff and every year they support roughly 5000 new cancer patients, their families and around 50'000 outpatients. Many of you will know from my previous page that some years ago my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer, and thanks to the support of Velindre he continued to live life to the full for 12 years after his diagnosis.

The charity were a shining light in a difficult time, and there are thousands of other people in similar situations benefiting from the support and care of Velindre and their staff. With cancer affecting so many people it is reassuring to have such an incredible facility in Wales, and I would like to raise some money to help their great work continue and reach more people & families.
