    Story

During this time patients and residents no longer have easy access to everyday things that perhaps their visitors would bring. Hospitals and carehomes have been looking for donations of items to help those in hospital.

As students we have the time, are able to source and deliver these items to the volunteers who will safetly distribute to those within the wards and care homes.

We hope to provide enough items to cover - Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, New Victoria Hospital and Alisa Care Home. The staff have arranged that we can drop items off safely and they will be left to one side for a day or two before being distributed to residents/patients to minimise any chance of infection.

In time we will expand on this list as we make contacts with local care homes.

This is a list of what staff have been asking for:

Diluting Juice, crisps, snacks, sweets, biscuits, shower gel, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving foam, female hygiene products, shampoo/conditioner, colouring books, puzzle books, magazines, pens...

We hope that by providing this we can offer some confort while people are seperated from their loved ones. Any donation, no matter how small, could brighten up the day of someone stuck in hospital or a care home without visitors.

.🥁...Drum roll please... 🥁... We are delighted to announce that Glasgow Women's Aid are the beneficiary of our remaining funds. We will be working out exactly how much that is later this week. In the meantime a special thank you to the GCU OT student who nominated Women's Aid because of the support her local branch are currently offering her 💕
