IMPORTANT - WE NEED YOUR HELP

As many of you already know the cricket season was due to start this weekend and right now there is a realistic possibility we will see no cricket at the club this season. Based on that we have done some financial modelling, and although we have cut our costs as much as possible, with no income through our main revenue streams, subscriptions are bar sales, the club will lose over £14k from our accounts and end up around £10k in the red at the end of the year. That would put the club in a perilous financial position with a real risk to the future sustainability of the club.

With that in mind we are doing everything we can to try and ensure the club can get through this as painlessly as possible but we need as much income as possible. We want to appeal to everybody we can, to help us through this difficult time to ensure the club can continue once we return back to some form of normality.

With that in mind, the club are looking at a number of initiatives to raise the necessary funds to sustain them past this pandemic. The first of those, is the GCC1000.

The club members are taking part by walking, running and riding 1000KM cumulatively by the end of April. That is the equivalent of 5000 runs on the cricket pitch.

We realise these are difficult times for everybody in different ways, but if you are in a position to help the club out and make a donation, it would go an extremely long way to keeping the club going for years to come.

In light of the current situation with Covid-19, Grappers will donate 25% of all donations to the NHS Charities, in support and total gratitude of our brilliant NHS staff who are working so hard to keep us healthy at the moment.
