Have you heard of handball?

It's an Olympic Sport in which Great Britain actually took part in at the 2012 London Games. Handball is one of the most exciting, high scoring, action packed team sport that can be played anywhere by anyone. It is infectious! 15 million people play handball worldwide.

As a group of parents, we have set up this page to seek additional help. All our son's are training hard as members of the Men’s U 20's Great Britain Handball Team. All the lads are self-funded (i.e. parents pay for everything from local and National training across the whole country, game comp fee's, local team fees etc) we have and will continue to do our best to support them develop their skills playing for Great Britain. It's just now we need a little help, as our personal funds are running dry. You, our supporters have helped immensely by making it possible for the team to get to their first International games in Austria, to play in the European Handball Federation (EHF) Men's Championships which were held in August 2018.

At the games in Portugal in September 2018, they came third and enjoyed celebrating their first medal as a team. In October 2018 they went onto win their first medal at International level - a Silver one at that!!! This was in Kosovo at the International Handball Federation Junior Competition. Handball is a madly popular sport in Europe and as group of parents and young people who love the sport, we want to make it that popular in the U.K. Taking part in European and International Competitions as they did last year is not only vital in the teams development; giving them the opportunity to play against teams who have been reared on handball since being youngsters, but it is also a visual platform for other countries to see how talented our GB team has become and how keen British Handball are to be part of this great sport. Thank you for taking the time to read this page and thank you for supporting if you are able to. Our sons are benefiting from the excellent coaching of London 2012 Olympian, Chris McDermott and we have high hopes for their future development. This year we have two international competitions so far both in Portugal. To try and raise some funds for the medical support required our parent support group have donated gifts so that for every £1 donated you are entered into a free prize draw. The draw will be drawn at England Handballs Final Games in Derby (get your tickets here https://www.englandhandball.com/) Prizes can be collected or if you know any of the players/parents they can hopefully get these to you, if local. Or people may just wish to donate, which we are very grateful for.
