Story
The British Game Alliance, Wild & Game and bi-monthly publication Fieldsports Journal identified a meaningful way the countryside community, and those that enjoy rural pastimes, could help the many heroes working on the frontline in the NHS during the pandemic emergency.
Game Aid has been created with the generous support of Samworth Brothers, one of the country’s largest food producers and Wild & Game who are producers of finest quality BGA assured British game based products. Game Aid is producing meal bags that include game, delivered and provided free of charge to NHS frontline staff throughout the UK during the pandemic.
The meal bags that cost £2 to produce and deliver, consist of a sumptuous Wild & Game pheasant & pork pie, some fruit, a bottle of water, a packet of crisps, a fruit bar and a chocolate treat. We know these healthy and hearty Game Aid meal bags will go some way towards ensuring no NHS or care worker needs to worry about leaving the hospital to buy food or cook a meal, in order to remain nourished.
Working closely with the NHS, the Game Aid partners have been able to obtain full endorsement from the Chairman of the NHS National Food Review Committee, Philip Shelley. On behalf of the NHS he has thanked the rural community and everybody involved in advance for creating and supporting Game Aid. He confirmed by letter these meals will be distributed to his NHS colleagues nationwide “and they will raise morale”. Hospitals in Aberdeen, Shrewsbury, Taunton and Leeds are already scheduled to receive Game Aid meals in the next few weeks.
We are thankful to our fellow countryside friends for supporting this initiative. To put it into context £20 will feed 10 NHS heroes – if you donate £100 you can reflect on providing a hearty game lunch for 50 heroes! So, whilst the countryside community cannot be together, we can help together.
Thank you wholeheartedly and we look forward to seeing you on the peg, riverbank or on the hill in happier times.
Dylan, Tom, Simon.
100% of your donation will be used to create and deliver the meal bags. There are no salaries or expenses being allocated to Game Aid. Any individual putting in time or resources other than the cost of meal bags is doing it for free. The accounting for the fund will be transparent on request.
This short-term initiative has been established solely to assist NHS frontline staff during the Covid 19 epidemic. When the UK resumes normal life once again, any residual funds raised by Game Aid will be donated to the Country Food Trust in their sterling long-term efforts to feed those in need.

Game Aid
UK
Game Aid will be providing meal bags that include game, delivered free of charge to NHS and frontline staff across the UK. Each bag costs £2 to produce, so with the help of Wild & Game and Samworth Brothers the rural community can offer support directly where it will counts.
