Story

Covid-19 has meant that many zoos and city farms have lost their main source of income. I have been a volunteer at both Bristol Zoo and Woodgate Valley Urban Farm and working with them has shown me how important their role in society is. As they both mean so much to me, I will be litter-picking until I return to university in the autumn. I aim to raise £1000 towards helping these two charities recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I will be litter-picking in my home town of Halesowen near Birmingham and also in Horfield when I move back to Bristol. I have chosen litter-picking because litter negatively impacts our environment and its wildlife - causing harm to aquatic ecosystems and wildlife that chance upon it.
